spring is round the corner......

I feel, don't you?.....longer days, bluer skies and the odd spots of colour here and there in the garden.

I saw a recent post on the Attic24 blog for a gorgeous wrap and quickly picked up hook and started producing these wonderful little flowers. Lucy at said blog  is one of the most generous bloggers I have come across when it comes to sharing her passion which is crochet. She has a huge following here in blogland and if you haven't yet come across her, have a peep, you will not be disappointed.

My colours are a little more muted but all the same for this house where white and grey generally rule this is colour with a capital C.

Youngest declared it to be really pretty.... what is it?....a shawl....you don't wear shawls! ...Well I'm getting older and  I need a shawl sometimes......You're not going to wear it out are you!!!

I don't feel quite so enthusiastic now............

  1. It's beautiful. I am seriously addicted to making these flowers as are so many of us. We've started a CAL so please take a look as there are so many lovely flowers on there.

  9. Travel info - I would come into the city from the M1 via the Parkway - main route. Straight into city centre. There are lots and lots of new car parks so parking won't be a problem - even on a Saturday. The Cheese Grater "Q" car park (I think its called Charles Street) is very central for where you need to be - but it will cost you a fair bit for the full day - but it'll be worth it to be in the glorious North for a day!!! The one in the railway station is the same - central, but pricey. There is a cheaper one on a bit of spare ground on Arundel Gate. Hope you have a succesful day. xxxx

  10. YAY!!! Your flowers are gorgeous! My sister and I have started shawls too. We are using thicker yarn (worsted maybe) and so our flowers are bigger. I really like the size of yours....maybe next time. I'm using the same color scheme. I'm a little skeptical too about how I will look in the shawl, but it's far too pretty not to make it so we'll see when it's done.

  12. Those flowers are so gorgeous - love your colours! And thats just the sort of thing my daughter says to me - I never felt old until my daughter became a teenager and started making that sort of comment :(
Just keep going and ignore the youngsters - they are behind the times, they just dont get how trendy crochet is again!!! Thats what I tell my daughter!
