morning!

I was going to blog this morning about my trip up north last week to see the girls but youngest is not well and i'm totally preoccupied by that.
Last night I phoned and she said she had been ill since Monday with what I presume to be the winter vomiting bug. She hadn't told me Wednesday when we talked as she hadn't wanted to worry me. She was very upset and all I wanted to do was get in the car and drive three hours to sit with her and make her a hot water bottle and make sure she drinks enough.......She said her flat mates are really looking after her, I've checked today and she feels a little better......but what a horrible bloody feeling to be so far away . I do relish the freedom you get having older children but its probably much more of a worry to me now when they are away than when they were tucked up in bed and in sight....if you know what I mean.

  1. I've found that's the hardest thing to deal with when they're so far from home. My daughter had swine flu one winter and I couldn't get there when she needed me. This winter she broke her arm, and it was a whole week before I could be with her. Luckily, my son has been fine so far!
Hope your daughter feels better soon, because then you will too!

  2. I know just how you feel. I still tell my son to be careful crossing the road - he's 40! I'm sure your daughter appreciated your phone call and glad to hear she's getting better.

  7. My boys are 1, 4 and 6. I said to my husband the other day that although we never get a lie in together anymore and the house is always a tip, these are the best days of our lives. We KNOW each and everyone of our boys is well and happy. We know where they are, we can take care of them when they are sick. I needn't say any more. I do look forward to having a bit more time to my self but I recognise that these really are the best of times.

i hope your gal gets well soon as poss. I hope she is already better as I have comme to this post a little late.
